A shut-off module is a type of valve designed to completely stop the flow of a fluid or gas. Its function is primarily for safety and emergency shut-off applications, operating in a simple on/off or binary manner. Unlike a control valve that modulates flow, a shut-off module acts as a final fail-safe to immediately and reliably isolate a system or a section of a process. It is a flow valve, not a pressure-regulating valve.
