Dilating Disc Valves

Dilating Disc Valves

Dilating disc valves are a type of flow control valve that use a unique design to regulate fluid flow. Unlike traditional ball or butterfly valves, which rotate to control flow, this valve features a flexible, elastomeric disc.

The disc is attached to the valve body and can be "dilated" or stretched inward and outward to vary the size of the flow path. This design allows for fine-tuning of the flow rate and provides a smooth, non-obstructive passage when fully open.

Because the disc dilates to control flow rather than obstructing it, these valves are particularly well-suited for applications involving slurries, solids, or abrasive fluids, where traditional valves would be susceptible to clogging or wear.
