Pressure transducers and pressure transmitters convert pressure readings into signals sent to a display, controller, or PLC to monitor and control pressurized systems. The difference between the two is that transmitter sensors convert readings into milliamp (mA) output signals, whereas transducer sensors transmit signals into millivolt (mv) or voltage output signals.
These pressure measurement devices are used in liquid, and gas applications such as semiconductor processing, process control, wastewater treatment, chemical, oil and gas, and test and measurement equipment.
Pressure transmitters and transducers fall into three output signal categories:
Millivolt output transducers have a low output signal
Voltage output transducers provide a higher output level
4-20mA output transmitters are best for long-distance transmission
